With less room for color, and less options in menswear overall, having investment pieces that you can use in more than one outfit is more important than ever. This becomes prevalent especially in neutrals (black, grey, beige, brown, plus navy is even being considered the new school neutral).
Its a cloudy day, its the end of the week and decision fatigue starts to hit. Monochromatic looks (when you wear different shades of the same color from head to toe) have a strong impact on whoever lays eyes on you. On top of that, its the easiest outfit to put together. This outfit is almost like the navy suit; all you have to do is change a single piece in this look (maybe a light wash pair of jeans, or a denim jacket instead of a black leather jacket) and you have at least two outfits for the week.
There are few guys walking around campus in slim-distressed denim or in Chelsea boots, so don't let the lack of flavor in the color department make you think you're not trying hard enough. We see you, Style Guy.
Warning: Sporting a toothpick with this outfit may lead to the intimidation of others around you.
