Getting more followers on Instagram is a topic most shy away from, but you have to call it like it is - we all want to expand our influence in every way possible. Instagram is a top 5 social media platform right now and will be for years to come. Although you may not be an influencer, having a few hashtags in your back pocket won't do any harm - especially if you want new people to discover your page.
Lay it all out
Before you start using these hashtags, you'll have to get rid of your senior citizen-like privacy paranoia. Not having a public page takes you out of consideration from being seen as a 'public figure'. When people see that you're a socialite with a public page, they'll see you as a person who's out in the world making it happen. Who wouldn't want to follow that journey?
Get your house in order
Make sure that your content is A1. By that, I mean invest in a high quality camera. As a test, search #menswear or #mensfashion and see what photos stand out in a sea of fitted blazers and skinny jeans. Which ones stand out the most? The highest quality photos.
Be ready to engage
You want to be apart of the 'community' of whatever field you're diving into on social media. If you want people to follow you who use the hashtag #dapper, make sure you like and comment on people's photos who use the hashtag. The internet isn't' a buffet where you just take take take followers.
