Did you say bows? And ties? Say no more. I can still remember my first time opening my first package with a bow tie in it. After ripping apart the cheap plastic and cardboard, I can remember proudly "rocking" my first pre-tied bow tie with a matching pocket square. That was three years ago and I haven't gone back sense.
Bow ties helped me and brought me out of one of the most difficult times of my life. It was my little collection that distracted me from a difficult time that I was going through in my life. That spark of confidence and energy that a bow tie gives to the wearer and the observer is something that no other person or thing could give me at the time.
This is why I was excited when Bows N' Ties, an upcoming brand that sells neck ties, bow ties and other men's accessories out of San Francisco asked me to see what I could do with a few of their bows. For this occasion I decided to pull out the color green, one that you really won't find in my closet outside of accessories.
One thing to always remember is when you pick a standout color (green, orange, citron anyone?) that subtle hints of it throughout your outfit can make a strong visual impact. I love how the green in the socks compliments the green in the bow tie, forcing someone to look at an outfit like this from head to toe. Oh, don't forget the green in my lapel pin from Harrison Blake Apparel
